THE INTENT
To Reduce Pain.
To Give Space.
My name is Chris Kriya, I go by Kriya, a Los Angeles based mobile Neuromuscular Massage Therapist specializing in muscular pain relief. I use a combination of trigger point therapy, focused deep tissue body work, pressure points, relaxation techniques and breath work to allow for the muscles to create space in areas of tension and stagnation. Struggling with migraines? I'll get Into The Muscles of the neck. Pain in the front of the shoulder? I'll get Into The Muscles of the back shoulder blade. Pain in the lower back? I'll get Into The Muscles of the glutes and abdomen. For many muscles there is a relationship with a different section of the body, and that's where I get Into The Muscles. I look at habits, and life styles to generate a plan of action that reflects what the individual body needs. Each body tells its own story, thus each massage service is unique.
my story

In 2020 I suffered a knee injury. Simultaneously I set a goal to learn a new skill with 1 condition, the skill must not use technology. to avoid western doctors I sought out a holistic solution for my knee pain. An acupuncturist not only took away my pain, but inspired me in the process to help others. Thus my journey with using mu hands began 2 years of study on technique, anatomy, and muscular pain becoming a neuromuscular therapist.
In 2021 I began practicing massage at various spas in Los Angeles. At Spas I was highly sought out for my deep tissue massage becoming a top requested therapist with in a few months of employment. Chris is my given name. Kriya is my adopted name which is Sanskrit meaning completed action or to surrender. My massage embodies thus practice so that each service is incremental in progress and helps to release what does not service my clients.
While employed at spas I discovered I had a gift. For the first time in my life I felt the feeling of being special, the feeling of creating meaningful change in others lives. It was also there that I learned my value and transitioned to being independent offering mobile services.
Upon becoming independent my work expanded as my clientele became more diverse. My work became more specific, more intuitive and more impactful. Clients experienced major transformations on an energy and emotional Level. My massage evolves with each service and I love the adventure. When trying to find a company name for my practice I recalled my intake process with clients. I would ask clients do you want to relax? Or would you like me to get into your muscles? Thus INTO THE MUSCLES was born in 2023. I am grateful for every connection and to share my story.
In the short term my goal is to help people discover their bodies, help relieve pain, inspire positive change, embrace intimacy and reimagine what touch therapy is. In the long term I hope to be a voice of inspiration for those who are struggling with finding purpose and to help fellow healers who seek guidance with understanding their gift.
